2000, BROADWAY, New York

This is a very small studio. The challenge was to make a functioning space for a couple’s pied a tere for the occasional jaunt to New York City to enjoy opera and art from their very own jewel box. It measures barely 500 square feet.

The entire palate is based on a Saber painting titled Lo Se. Saber is a Los Angeles graffiti artist who transitioned to a career as a fine artist in 2002. The colors in the painting are soft cold grays with a piercing sliver of purple. We selected the high gloss gray lacquer, Varena kitchen from Poliform with grey counters.

The carpet is a plush cut pile pale gray, silk and wool from Tai Ping. The Park Avenue sofa bed from the Cameron Collection has an electric powered inflatable pillow top over the mattress. Heaven! I used a boiled wool color Smoke from Holland & Sherry

The barstools are from Casa Armani with Edelman Royal Hide African Parrot leather. The lined curtains hidden in ceiling pockets done in Jane Churchill Darwin color silver fabric give structure to the room. All of the walls and floor melt away leaving only the art to satisfy you lust for color.
